Re: DMA and DAC

So using I2S to write to the DAC uses up both DACs and outputs the same (or R/L) data to both GPIOs? That means if I use GPIO26 that GPIO25 is no longer available? Or are we assuming stereo audio? This is going to be mono audio. I was hoping that calling "i2s_set_pin(i2s_num, GPIO_NUM_26)"...

Re: DMA and DAC

Short example configuring I2S to use internal DAC for analog output: So the internal DAC that they are referring to is the one on GPIO25 or 26? i2s_set_pin(i2s_num, NULL); //for internal DAC, this will enable both of the internal channels Should I change the NULL to the pin I want? Does NULL send t...

DMA and DAC

I am seeing a need to send audio data out the ESP32 DAC. I searched this forum for the DMA and DAC but didn't get any relevant hits. Anyone have any input on this task? The docs say this.... The DAC channels can also be driven with DMA-style written sample data, via the I2S driver when using the “bu...

Re: i2c bug in 3.0, works with older idf

I use i2c quite a bit. I also do software resets of the esp32. I've never experienced a complete failure of the i2c. I do get the occasional timeout. But the next transaction then seems fine. What should I be on the lookout for?

Re: File upload using socket succeeds but not with esp_http_client

Your file appears to have changed size from 3040 to 2838 (i.e. Content-Length). Maybe that's a clue.

Re: File upload from esp32 using esp_http_client possible?

I upload recorded audio data to a server as octet content in my project using esp_http_client. Not exactly file content though I guess.

Re: I2S to WIFI

Along with 1024 buffer sizes I recommend using queues to move data between an I2S reading task and an IP sending task. Also you failed to mention the type of socket. It should be TCP. My experience with the ESP32 is that you can expect a lot of lost packets in a congested wifi environment. So if you...

Re: V3.1 Release pings at 10x over older IDF

If you call esp_wifi_set_ps(WIFI_PS_NONE); , does the ping behaviour start matching v3.0 again? Hi Angus, Thanks for the info. Calling that function has lowered pings latency back to v3.0/v3.1 times. Is there any downside to going to WIFI_PS_NONE? We are plugged into the wall so power isn't an issu...

They changed time scale (ms to sec)for ping.

That doesn't affect the measured result just the timeout value passed to the function.

Those are pings from a computer to the ESP32. Would that have an effect on them?

Re: V3.1 Release pings at 10x over older IDF

Just ran the test with 3.0.2 release. It also pings at a much lower value. Issue seems to be introduced in 3.1 release.
