Flash in 2 Bit mode to get extra IO

I have an application that is exactly 2 IO short. Is it possible to run the flash in 2 bit mode (ESP32-PICO-D4) to get an extra 2 IO from the unused spi Pins?

You can't disconnect them from the flash and they are probably functional as hold and write protect in dio mode so it could cause issues.
