Proper Connection to Power Esp8266 nodemcu v3

Postby engkhaledeisa » Wed Mar 06, 2024 10:34 am

hi ....how are you..I made aproject using vl6180x with esp8266 nodemcu v3 and I heard an advice to not power the ring or the esp from vu pin as that will unbalance the circuit but I want to discuss with which connection is better fritizing schematic 1 or fritizing schematics 2 (the red line )
my main issue is ....sometimes the power reached the sensor and worked and other times the power didnot reach it and in that time i have to unplug and replug the esp to the pc port or reset the esp until the power reached it....i connect the sensor to 3.3v pin altought I found some projects connect it to 5v but I afraid to do that or it will burn ..
I found some projects on google ..they connect it to 5v also like I said sometimes power reached and sometimes not when I connect to 3.3v ....
one advice me that the cause of that problem is the ring need 5 volt and it shouldnot be powered by vu pin as that puts puts load on esp
also I am afraid to inject 3.7 volt through vin pin on esp8266 nodemcu v3 so what is your advice to balance the power in the circuit without any issues or faults ?

Check for loose connections or faulty jumper wires. Consider adding decoupling capacitors near the power supply pins of the ESP8266 and the sensor to smooth out any voltage fluctuations. If the sensor requires more current than the ESP8266 can provide reliably, consider using a separate power supply while still connecting their ground lines to maintain a common reference point.
